Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan has suffered another setback after picking up a groin injury in Shanghai SIPG’s 2-1 loss away to Melbourne Victory in the Asian Champions League.
Gyan was stretched off the pitch in the 59th minute after complaining pains in his groin.
The Black Stars captain who was replaced by Wenjun Lue is expected to undergo a test to know the extent of the injury.
The 30-year-old is having a nerve-wracking stint with the Chinese Club following his consistent injury woes.
Having scored four goals last season for Shanghai, the former Sunderland striker is hoping to regain his goal scoring form in the Chinese top-flight this season.
