The Black Stars captain has revealed the whole team was stunned after hearing Kwesi Appiah was fired, despite recording a victory over Togo in the AFCON qualifier.
Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has said Kwesi Appiahs exit as Black Stars coach came as a huge surprise to the entire team.
The Al Ain striker has, however, given the assurance that they have gotten over the shock ahead of the country's Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Guinea in Tamale.
It was shocking news for all of us because the team was getting back on track," Gyan told reporters in Tamale.
Many of the players earned their first call and debut games under his stewardship so it was trying times, but no coach will be at the helm of affairs forever so we have gotten over it.
Assistant Maxwell Konadu is taking charge until a substantive coach is announced later this month.
