Ghana are through to the semi-finals of the African Nations Championship defeating DR Congo 1-0 on Sunday.
And their reward for a victory is a mouthwatering last-four clash rivals Nigeria.
Kwabena Adusei stepped up to convert the match winner past Robert Kidiaba from the spot in the 67th minute to seal a last-four berth for the home-based national team.
The goal was the defender's second at the tournament exclusive to players based in their home countries. Adusei is now Ghana's top scorer.
With seven minutes on the clock Yahaya Mohamed could have made it 2-0 for Ghana but failed to beat Kidiaba as the goalkeeper stood tall to block his effort.
DR Congo pressed hard for an equaliser but Ghana goalkeeper Stephen Adams pulled saves while his defensive unit overworked to ensure the scoreline stayed 1-nil.
The hard fought win at the Free State Stadium somehow was hands Ghana a payback after DR Congo edged to the title in the first edition of the tournament in 2009.
DR Congo enjoyed good moments in the tough contest but failed to score to add up to their bright display.
