Ghana have maintained her position on the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) monthly ranking released on Thursday.
The Black Stars begin the year as the 24 best team globally, having finished last year in the same position.
Ghana similarly locked down her place as the second best in Africa behind Cote dIvoire after amassing 851 points in the month under review. According to FIFA, only 18 international friendly matches were included since the December edition of the ranking, five of which took place in 2013, with the remaining 13 in the first half of January 2014.
Ghana attained two more points this month and could better their lot dependent on local Black Stars' performance at the Championship of African Nations, (CHAN) tournament underway in South Africa. FIFA has recently included the CHAN tournament in its array of competitions ranked for the monthly ratings.
