Ghana international Sulley Muntari has been given a two-game suspension and fined 10,00 euros after being sent off in Milans draw with Roma on Sunday.
The Rossoneri midfielder was given two yellow cards at San Siro -one for protests against the referee and for roughing up the referee.
The Lega Calcio officials have seen fit to ban the 28-year-old for two matches.
AC Milan coach Max Allegri criticized the player for his actions in a match which was temporarily halted due to racist chants.
Allegri said: Muntari really shouldnt be doing things like this, as it is important for a team to have all 11 men on the field. We need to stay calm.
Muntari made a mistake and hes mortified but he shouldnt be crucified.
