Nigeria U17 team coach Manu Garba says his side are in to win the African Junior Championships ďż˝ in effect signaling a clear title warning to main rivals, Ghana.
The Golden Eaglets will begin their campaign at the tournament being hosted in Morocco against the Black Starlets on Sunday.
Nigeria are making a return to the competition after failing to qualify for the last two editions.
The Golden Eaglets won the tournament they last time they were in it in the 2007 edition hosted by Togo.
And Garba is looking to repeat a similar feat this term in Morocco ďż˝ in effect issuing a direct threat to co-favourites, Ghana.
We are steadfast about our main objective of qualifying for the World Cup as African champions and by the grace of God, we shall succeed, said Garba.
The ball is now in the court of the players and they know what is expected.
What we want is for Nigerians to continue to assist them with their prayers and we shall be victorious.
