Ashgold are battling Moroccan side Raja Casablanca for the services of midfielder Mahadi Abubakar after the relegation of Wassaman and Bechem United from the Ghana Glo Premiership.
We have spoken with him and he is happy to play for us, but he disclosed that he has also gotten an offer from Raja Casablanca and will go to Morocco to also try out, a board member of Ashgold told Goal.com Ghana.
Now all is for us to double our effort as the desire is there to play for us so that he would forsake the Raja deal.
The former Gomoa Fetteh Feyernoord midfielder was touted as the biggest and most talented midfielder to emerge from the academy but has hardly found his feet.
Abubakar, 22, has already played for clubs including the defunct Kessben FC, Medeama FC, Asec Mimosa and Kaduna Stars in Nigeria.
