Three Ghanaian players Sulley Muntari, Kwadwo Asamoah and Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu were among footballers who attended the church service for Piermario Morosini on Thursday.
The 25-year-old Morosini collapsed and died after suffering cardiac arrest during a soccer match last weekend.
The church service was held at the Church of San Gregorio Barbarigo in Bergamo.
Father Luciano Manenti started the service by saying Mario is really in our hearts. Im not scared and I am here not only for Mario but with Mario.
Morosini was on loan from Udinese but started out in Atalantas youth team.
Badu and Asamoah met Morosini at Udinese.
Muntari, a former Udinese player now playing for AC Milan, was described as emotional by reporters.
