Ghana midfielder Andre Ayew says that after having won their opening two games at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations their critics should be eating humble pie.
The Black Stars beat Botswana 1-0 and followed that up with a 2-0 win over Mali this Saturday, and the rising star believes that those who wrote them off ahead of the tournament should be regretting their words.
I hope our victory will put to rest all the question marks that were raised against us after our first game with Botswana," Ayew said to reporters.
We came out here to prove we are a united front and out here to fight to the end. The first half was very difficult but we stayed together all through.
We worked hard so that we do not concede a goal, make a comeback from the break to execute our coach's tactical instructions and in the end, proved that we can fight all the way, the Olympique Marseille winger added.
Ghana will qualify for the quarter-finals if they avoid losing by a fair margin to Guinea on Wednesday.
