Ghana captain John Mensah has been ruled out of Fridays Africa Cup of Nations clash against Swaziland because of a fresh injury, MTNFootball.com can exclusively reveal.
The France-based centre-back will also not be available for the friendly against Brazil in London next week.
Mensah was confident he can recover from a thigh injury he suffered while playing for Lyon in a pre-season game.
But he aggravated the injury while doing some recovery training on Sunday which means he will not play in the two matches.
Mensah picked up the problem during Les Gones pre-season training.
He was excluded from the aborted friendly against Nigeria as a result.
Ghana face Swaziland on 2 September in a 2012 Nations Cup qualifier in Accra and line up against Brazil three days later at Craven Cottage in London.
