Asante Kotokos Ivorian forward Ahmed Toure says his decision to play for the Black Stars remains unchanged despite his nationality background. I like the country, I have already made up my mind to play for Ghana and that is it, he said on Happy FM.
I dont intend to reverse my decision. Ghana, like Cote dIvoire, are blessed with gifted players. There are great strikers like Asamoah Gyan, Prince Tagoe, Dominic Adiyiah and others but I think I can break into the team if am given the chance, he added.
Reacting to the players quest to don the Ghanaian national colours and the input of the GFA, Kwesi Nyantakyi, FA chief, noted, He has expressed the interest to play for Ghana. If he meets the legal requirement, why not?
Toure, who speaks Twi fluently, joined Kotoko midway last season but his exploits saw him emerging as the best Premier League player.
He extended his dominance to the FA Cup competition by emerging again as the Most Valuable Player. He aided the Porcupine Warriors to the finals of the competition where the Porcupine Warriors lost 0-1 to Nania FC.
