Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) president Kalusha Bwalya has warned Ghana that they have the capability to edge past the Black Stars to finish top of Group D of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.
The Chipolopolo were drawn to face the West Africans, Sudan and Lesotho or Burundi on Saturday in Brazil.
Bwalya, who is a legend in Zambia football, says their preparation for the World Cup qualifiers will start at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Caf executive committee member says their performance at the tournament in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea will determine how far they will go in the 20012 World Cup qualifiers
Bwalya admits that Ghana are the favourites in the group but they also want to grab the sole ticket to the final phase of the qualifiers.
We are in a tough draw but it could have been worse but I think we have enough fire power to qualify to the next round although we should be wary of Ghana who in my view are currently the best team on the continent, Kalusha said.
He said the Chipolopolo will have enough time to prepare for the qualifiers.
What we will do at next years Africa Cup of Nations finals will surely be an indicator of how far we can go in the World Cup qualifiers.
So it is important for us to do well in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon, he said.
He said at the moment the Chipolopolo should focus on securing a spot at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations finals.
