Defender John Paintsil has dismissed media reports he has set a date for his retirement from international football. Recent publications suggests the ex Fulham right-back wants to retire from the Black Stars after the 2012 Nations Cup where he believes Ghana would have by then won the cup.
But Paintsil, 30, says the idea has not even crossed his mind since he has plenty of football left in him. I have not considered leaving the national team. I am just 30-years and my target to play football is long, he said. I am not ready to retire from international football much less my football career. All those publications are false because I have not granted any interview setting a date fro my retirement any moment from now.
The dependable defender is now focused on securing a new club to enhance his chances of national team action. I am looking forward to securing a new club so I get ready for the national team. I cannot disclose where I am headed, it can be anywhere.
