Ghana will represent at the FIBA Africa 3×3 Championship later this year in Lome, Togo after its Female side progressed beyond the zonal qualifiers.
The Female team participated in the recently ended FIBA Zone 3×3 Championship held in Cotonou, Benin with a host of West African nations competing.
Following the conclusion of regional competitions across the continent, 23 nations will join Host Togo from November 9-11 to battle for a spot at the World Cup.
Regular names like Egypt and Uganda made the cut alongside debutants Burkina Faso, Cape-Verde and Democratic Republic of Congo.
Despite falling to powerhouses Mali and Nigeria, Ghana managed to clinch a win to scrap through to the next stage of the competition.
By making it beyond the zonal level, Ghana stands a big chance of making it to the World Cup for the first time in its history.
The country has consistently missed out on participating in international competitions and this could be the long awaited turn around in the nation’s fortunes.

Bénin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Egypt, Ghana, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Togo and Uganda.
