It is public knowledge that the Police have charged Chief Executive of Bull-haus Entertainment, Lawrence Nana Esiama Hanson also known as Bull Dog, with conspiracy to commit murder and murder of Fennec Okyere, the late manager of hiplife artiste Kwaw Kesse.
The police say some threatening text messages that Fennec received in 2012 have been linked to Bull Dog, making him the prime suspect. He would reappear in court on June 2.
According to the police, the threats were sparked by a misunderstanding that occurred between hiplife trio VIP, under the management of Bullhaus on one hand and Kwaw Abodam Kesse on the other hand as far back as 2012.
Several industry players have, however, confirmed that both Bull Dog and Fennec later became the best of friends and were planning to form an association for artiste managers when he later got killed in 2014. News-One reproduces a press statement Bull Dog issued in 2012 after the misunderstanding VIP had with Kwaw Kesse. On page, 18, we continue with a press statement Kwaw Kesse also issued in response to the one form Bull Dog. Both statements were published by News-One and several other media houses and can easily be accessed online. Enjoy the trip down money lane.
We are Against Violence VIP
The management of Ghanas award winning group, Vision in Progress, popularly known as VIP, is calling on its fans across the country and beyond who are outraged by some unfortunate developments that occurred at the Night With The Stars Show organized over the weekend by Joy FM to calm down and exercise maximum restraint no matter the level of provocation they may encounter.
VIP received reports of an alleged attack on some persons after the show and certain entertainment personalities including one Commotion, also alleged to be one of the attacked persons.
Though without any evidence whatsoever, some persons have accused fans of VIP of being responsible for the attacks.
If indeed it was true that VIP fans were behind the attacks, VIP categorically condemns such incidents and is calling on its fans not to engage in such behavior. VIP does not subscribe to using violence in dialogue as the best means of addressing challenges.
The group has over the years maintained a reputation as one of Africas non-violent entertainment groups. Truly, it has never been cited in any form of violence or any violent act. Also, it has a track-record of never disrespecting anybody in Ghanas entertainment industry.
VIP is recognized as Ghanas earliest hip life group that derives its unit and purpose from a small community called Nima.
They are not violent and have further proven that by representing Ghana and Africa on various continental stages. Never have they been indicated for any violent acts.
It was regrettable that Promzy, a VIP member, had his car vandalized at the venue just after the Night with the Star event.
Though the group has a fair idea where this is most likely to have come from, the group trusts the Ghana Police Service to best handle the matter.
Once again, VIP is grateful for the support it has enjoyed from the fans, public and media over the years. May God bless our music industry and the entire nation as we are preparing for 2012 General Elections?
Statement of Apology From Kwaw Kesse
After this fans of both Kwaw Kesse and VIP threatened to face each other in defense of their respective stars but after several consultations, the man in sane have decide to take a very bold step to apologize to all who were offended with his show and subsequently the aftermath.
Read below the statement released on November 30, 2014:
"I put out a well thought-out and very organized performance at the just ended 2012 Joy FM Nite with the Stars dubbed Accra verses Tema to suit the event in the spirit of creative and healthy competition without any ill intention but it seems some part of my performance didn't go down well with certain people.
On my own behalf and on behalf of my record label Madtime Entertainment, I want to render an unqualified apology to all the fans of VIP, all my fans and anybody in Ghana and beyond, who was offended at the show for anything which didn't go well on the night.
I want to use the opportunity to tell VIP (Vision In Progress) that whatever I did on stage was a creative expression which might have been taken out of context but I did not have any intention to disrespect or insult them in any way. I was just trying to add some excitement and fun to the show on stage.
They are my brothers and will always remain my brothers. I appeal to them to forget about everything that has happened lets put everything behind us and move on as brothers, as proud Ghanaian musicians and African entertainers.
We are all working very hard to put the flag of Ghana high on the international front so lets keep that Vision In Progress and put all negativity behind us. I also urge my brothers VIP to calm all their fans across the country to down and let them know this was just a show and nothing personal.
We are all one people we will always need each other. I call for Peace and calm for anybody who has been offended or hurt in one way or the other. Kwaw Kesse and Madtime Entertainment condemn the use of any form violence for any reason. We believe in Peace and resorting to dialogue as the best means of dealing with issues of such sensitive nature.
I thank Sarkodie, R2Bees and others artistes, my management and all my fans for standing behind me in all this and I assure them that the BEAUTIFUL MADNESS still continues and I will always do my best to remain creative and unpredictable both on stage and in my music.
I wish all Ghanaians a very PEACEFUL election.
God bless Ghana Entertainment Industry, God bless Ghana.
Aboooooodam!!!"
