Ghanaian singer, Kofi Kinaata, has replied veteran highlife musician, Rex Omar after the latter said Kofi Kinaata is a good lyricist but not a good songwriter.
In a media interview Mr Omar, while mentioning his top five Ghanaian songwriters, left out Kofi Kinaata because “he’s a good lyricist and not a songwriter.” Mr Omar’s list of songwriters included musicians Amandzeba Nat Brew, OJ, Okyeame Kwame, Reverend Yawson, Akwaboah and Ephraim Amu.
But, Kofi Kinaata, reacting to this said he sees nothing wrong with it. According to him, as long as people are entitled to their opinions, he accepts Mr Omar’s words in good faith.
He told Asempa FM that “it is his opinion and he knows too much. My fans call me the Fante rap god, and he also has his opinion. I don’t want to talk about it. Ronaldo has speed, dribbles and and all that but some say he’s not a footballer. That’s how I see it,” he said.
