Mr. Evans Obeng Boateng, known in the music circles as ''Nana Tito'', has said, highlife music is gradually falling apart and changing into something different.
According to the new highlife artiste, the highlife music genre, represents the heritage of the Ghanaian people and feels saddened about how highlife music, has been abandoned and has suddenly metamorphosed into afro-pop.
“Highlife is our own music and we just can't sit and watch it collapse, because it belongs to us.
“Most young acts don't want to enter into highlife music anymore as they doing something different, which they term as afro-pop which doesn't depict our music heritage as a people, '' Nana Tito said.
He also urged highlife stalwarts to wake up and help keep the highlife music genre alive regardless of the insurgence of dancehall, hip pop and other genre of music.
Nana Tito, who recently featured Ofori Amponsah and Yaa Pono in his new single titled '' Somebody Needs You'' has gained massive airplay over the past few days.
