Atik Mohammed has passed comments over the newly appointed ministers and deputy ministers in the last term of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
The President announced his ministerial reshuffle days ago, hence replacing the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta and Health Minister, Kwaku Agyemang Manu with Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam and Dr. Bernard Okoe-Boye respectively.
Other appointees were the Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, who replaced Francis Asenso-Boakye as Works and Housing Minister.
Hon. Asenso-Boakye also takes over from Kwasi Amoako Atta as Roads and Highways Minister.
Deputy Information Minister, Fatimatu Abubakar ascends to the position of Information Minister, and Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover is the new Greater Accra Regional Minister.
Henry Quartey vacates his position as Greater Accra Regional Minister to hold the position of Interior Minister.
Giving a brief remark about the appointments, Atik Mohammed described the new ministers as "injury time players" stating their coming won't make any significant difference in the administration of the economy.
"With these injury time players, there is nothing substantial that a lot of them can do. Like Dr. Amin Adam who has been sent to the Finance Ministry, he's just inherited crises," he commented during Peace FM's morning show "Kokrokoo".
He also lauded Dr. Bernard Okoe-Boye, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Insurance Authority, as one of the most diligent persons ever, but doubts if Dr. Okoe-Boye can do much in this short period to improve the health sector.
