Henry Nana Boakye has eulogized the Roads and Highways Minister, Kwasi Amoako-Atta, following the recent ministerial reshuffle by President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
The Minister has been replaced by the Member of Parliament for Bantama and Works and Housing Minister, Francis Asenso-Boakye with the Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, reassigned to the Works and Housing Ministry.
Hon. Oppong Nkrumah's Deputy, Fatimatu Abubakar has been penciled for Information Minister.
As Hon. Amoako-Atta exits the Roads and Highways Ministry, Henry Nana Boakye asserts he is very proud of the Minister's works.
Though some Ghanaians have expressed disappointment in Hon. Amoako-Atta, Nana Boakye says the Minister is the best ever.
"For me, he is the best Road Minister under the 4th Republic", he touted, arguing that the government has constructed an unprecedented number of roads under the leadership of Hon. Kwasi Amoako-Atta.
"When take Accra alone, the roads we have constructed, no government has ever done such number of roads ever before", he expounded while speaking on Peace FM's Friday edition of "Kokrokoo" morning show.

Yes, it may be true that the government has constructed an unprecedented number of roads, also tell us whether same government has paid the contractors who worked on the said roads. What you people forget is that those foreign contractors you accumulate monies to pay because of your personal interest have no votes when it comes to elections. The very local contractors who have influence in their families when it comes to voting are those you have refused to pay for contracts they executed. When you pay local contractors all the money will remain here. Foreman, Mason, steel bender, carpenter, labourer will all get their share and economic activities will flourish . There are a lot of local road contractors whose businesses have come to a standstill because of governments reluctance to pay them. If you know you don't have money, why award contracts? As if this is not enough this same roads minister goes ahead to suspend payment of road tolls at a time no driver resisted payment of the tolls. Currently long vehicles from our close door neighbors namely Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger come into Ghana's ports to,load heavy cargo and use our roads for free. In the meantime Ghana's vehicles that cross over into these countries pay road tolls in and out. What is the sense in this ? Why will a struggling country like Ghana under an IMF programme be given its roads to foreigners to use for free? Just come to the north and see the damage these foreign trucks have caused on our roads .
