A Professor of Political Science at the University of Ghana, Professor Ransford Edward Gyampo has described as “unpresidential” some comments made by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to victims of the Akomsobo dam flood.
Viral videos on social media of portions of the President’s remarks to the affected people of the dam flood seem to suggest that he was taking a dig at the people of the Volta Region.
“I came here because Ghanaians are having difficulties and suffering and it is my responsibility to try and help. If it is the question of counting who votes for me and who doesn’t vote for me, I shouldn’t be here because you don’t vote for me but that is not my concern,” the portion of the widely circulated video by the President said.
Prof Gyampo who was speaking on the issue in an interview with NEAT FM morning show, 'Ghana Montie' said the President did not show that "he is a father to all.”
"He did not sound like a father,” he added.

Gyampo now irrelevant. Seriously, a Prof must live above these pedestrian comments. I think he has lost it. Must you always criticize even when it is intellectually abhorrent?

Wow, this professor has PhD and has done qualitative content analysis and has used this method in analysing data and drawing conclusions for his research publications. Is that how good researchers interpret words? As a political scientist lecturer, political statements are used in classroom and we provide real meaning to show them how to analyse statements/data. is this how Prof. Gyampo going to interpret these words to his graduate students in the classroom? God saves his students...amazing and I cannot understand this. How can this be? I am very worried. There are sometimes we don't do politics with our hard earned academic qualifications and integrity. Prof. stop it and this is below the belt and it has a contagious effect of tarnishing all academics.
Is it by force for you to comment on any issue, even when is not even your domain>? This your comment is not necessary, Prof Violent Kisser
The so called professor what contribution has he done to reduce this thing since ,did he wanted the old man to carry them at his back,Gyampo should give us a break
Did you even appreciate the context within which the president made the statement? And juxtaposing it with that of Hon Dzifa Gomashie you still feel same? Probably you never heard the MP? Sometimes the expositions are so skewed but it's understandable Prof.
Sometimes you talk too much.
