Honorable Rachel Appoh, the former National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central has withdrawn from the Parliamentary Primaries in the Constituency.
This is because doctors of the former Deputy Minister for Gender Children and Social Protection did not declare her medically fit to contest the primaries.

Ms Appoh Continued “Looking at the current challenges battling my health, Doctors advice that I cannot contest the upcoming (primaries) elections.”
The facebook post however extend Ms Appoh’s “profound gratitude to the Executives and Delegates for the enthusiasm shown to my campaign team when they came to declare my intent to contest for the primaries few months ago. This shows how deep you people love me. I am very grateful”.
She added: “I wish the Good people of Gomoa Central NDC the very best and peaceful elections. A victory for one is a victory for all .I also pledge my wholesome support to any aspirant that will win. The victory of Gomoa central NDC and the Victory of the NDC in entirety in the coming 2024 Election is my topmost priority.”

It a good decision to always choose yourself first. Tho she withdrew from the elections, her efforts and passion are still valuable, even outside of politics. She was definitely going to win that Seat anyway. The NDC would have to work extra hard to win the seat in other to rescue the people of Gomoa central from bad governance.
Happy birthday Hon. Appoh. Wish you all the best and speedy recovery. We pray for victory in 2024
This is a big blow to NDC in the Gomoa central constituency. Hon Appoh is the only person who can take the seat from the wicked NPP. Ndc in Gomoa Central should unit and work hard else it will be difficult to capture the seat in 2024.
