Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah has described as “unfortunate” attacks on Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on his quest to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 election.
He was optimistic that despite the attack ahead of their part’s November 4 primary, Dr Bawumia will emerge as the winner and ‘break the 8’ for the ‘Elephant’ party.
“Bawumia is going to be the first candidate after late president Rawlings to win on his first attempt as president.” He said in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show, Ghana Montie.
He added, “Any candidate that is always attacking another candidate has no qualities of his to promote.”

You are a charlatan just because you want to hold on to your portfolio. You will see your smoothness level on November 4th
Is unfortunate to hear elderly and educated people in the party who should have known better speak this way, you want Dr Bawumia to become president for you to still enjoy as regional minister right? You people think every Ghanaian is a robot right? Dr Bawumia and Nana Addo has messed up the economy which you as a regional minister you are aware and you want Ghanaians to vote for Dr Bawumia again to collapse the country? What is preventing Npp to bring fresh candidate instead of Dr Bawumia? Opposition is waiting for you because of your selfishness and greediness in the party. Ghanaians are going to vote against the party if Npp presents Dr Bawumia as the candidate
Never o never Bawumia
They are so confident that they can be successful in Ghana with the Tinubu style. If they know how open minded Ghanaians have become and how wild they're, they will advise themselves against any rigging mentality. EC and supreme court cannot save the NPP from the impending disgrace with Bawumia as their flagbearer. And if these power mongers dare bring thugs, I'm sure the NDC is well prepared for them. They should learn something from Asin North.
When they are on their way to destruction, God hardens the hearts of arrogant people the more. If the same people alive in NPP don't set out to save the party urgently, let's watch out for the speed at which the destruction will be soon.
this joke of a man. Bawumia can only be a president in your houshold.
Hmmmmm, most of the elderly NPP stalwarts i e Odoi Sykes, Peter Ala Adjetey. B. J. Da Rocha, Haruna Essseku, Agyenim Boateng, B. K. Adama, C. K. Tedam, J. A. Addison, Gladys Asmah, Hawa Yakubu, Christine Churcher, Theresa Amaley Tagoe etc have all passed on. We therefore expect the few grey hairs who are still around to speak with wisdom. Simon Osei Mensah is one individual who speaks and acts loosely. At your age, i thought your tone should have been a reconciliatory one to all the aspirants to be circumspect in their utterances for the sake of party unity knowing that who ever wins the primaries will need the support of the other. Unfortunately you are no different from the alleged attackers you talking about. Look at the way you misbehaved towards school feeding caterers when they visited your office sometime ago. You treated them as if they have no dignity by throwing your hands at them and walking away knowing very well they are NPP members who's votes secured you your position as a regional minister. If it were left to people like you (Simon Osei Mensah), can Bawumia see top in Ashanti region? Can you (Simon Osei Mensah) stand in front of those NPP women you chased away from your office to speak to them on why they need to still remain faithful to the NPP? Can you? Ask yourself this simple question: if the alleged attackers cannot build, but can they destroy?
