The 2020 running mate to former President John Mahama, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has condemned the arrest of protesters of #OccupyJulorBiHouse demonstration.
About 50 demonstrators who were participating in the #OccupyJulorbiHouse protest were arrested after they proceeded with their demonstration despite an injunction application filed at the court by the police.
Among those arrested was Oliver Barker Vormawor, the #FixtheCountry convener.
Reacting to this, Prof. Jane Opoku-Agyemang wrote on X: Today’s arrest of the small band of protesters - mostly young, non threatening people - is unnecessary and undemocratic.
One expects the Police to have engaged them, to hear them out and to direct them accordingly, instead of intimidating, arresting, and brutalizing them. I join all well meaning Ghanaians to demand their immediate release from custody".
Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, on the other hand, described it as shameful and backward.

It's sad Naana doesn't see anything wrong with the theme of the demo, someone aspiring to be vice president...she's embarrassing,a disgrace to womanhood! As for this small boy Sammy Genfi,it's better I hold my words.
@Peters, “Julor bi”in a plain language if I can be blatant about it then it means “ a ***barred word***’s child “ . The twi people will say “Kromfo ba “ if I’m right. It’s unfortunate that a respected first woman vice chancellor who is aspiring to be in such an august house is supporting this demonstration, not even condemning the name of these disrespectful people have given it.
Can someone assist me with the meaning of "julorbi".
Disappointed in this Naana girl, but not surprised. Afternoon he signed for Mahama to release the Montie 3. Such an irresponsible woman.
It is a pity to hear the whole professor advocating huliganism and intimidation of the electoral commissioner in the absence of a convincing political message or alternative, better policies that can turn things around and improve the lives of the electorate. Solely relying on propaganda to make the ruling party unbelievable and unpopular before the electorate smears incompetence in a multi-party democracy that derives its strength from ideology, principles and tradition that inform its political message and policies. To me, the NDC seems to have lost all these in baseless political polemics and propaganda against its political opponent.
They deserve to die by hanging. ***barred word*** fooIs
so the two are encouraging lawlessness abi? where were they when Oliver was issuing defying words to the Ghana Police. hypocrites hungry for power....
Visionless people hungry for power. you will NEVER get!
How would a first woman vice chancellor in Ghana bleached her face and skin. It’s very unfortunate and very disappointing to take it
Naana and Gyamfi have become irelivant. They just want to heard and sadly they are encouraging lawlessness.
