Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr. has slammed the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) over how they are treating their pioneers whose sacrifices have led to the party's successes, most especially the NPP coming into government.
Kwesi Pratt scolded the NPP members, particularly the younger generations, who have gained leadership roles and because of their positions, privileges and wealth have neglected the people who are pillars of the party.
Mentioning NPP activists like Hajia Fati, Aunty Aggie, Kwame Pianim; a renowned economist and founding member of the New Patriotic Party, Former Minister for Foreign Affairs; Hackman Owusu-Agyeman and former General Secretary of party, Dan Botwe as some of the people upon whose sweats and struggles the New Patriotic Party became a strong force; Mr. Pratt noted that the selfless nationalistic spirit of these people can hardly be seen in the members today.
"Have you seen the party headquarters at Kokomlele? I know how they were able to buy that house. The central figure was Kwame Pianim. Hackman Owusu Agyemang was a part of it but Kwame Pianim was the central figure and so on but today nobody mentions their names. No attention is given to what they say because they don't have bags of money to share or distribute pickups. Today, if you can't gift people pickups, what you say is not taken seriously," he told Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's panel discussion show "Kokrokoo".
He added; "During that time, those who were members of the New Patriotic Party, they were proud people. Ready to die but this spirit no longer exists today."
To him, the NPP's current challenges are because of their disrespect and mistreatment of those who worked tirelessly to ensure the survival of the party, stressing "if you build a party like that, the consequences of it is what we see today".
"We use strong parties to build democracy...It is important for the Convention People's Party to be a strong party. It is significant for the NDC and NPP to be strong parties. This is how we build multi-party democratic governance," he advised.

What is your definition of 'sacrifice?'. The fact that you paid money to the party does not make you an automatic presidential canditate. Kwasi Pratt knows this. Please, let us ignore KP.
Otan paa nie, aba Kwesi Pratt. Where were you when NDC leaders were endorsing Former Prez Mahama? Don't worry very soon DMB will elected our candidate and go on to win the general election in 2024. Yes I know what is happening to Kwesi Pratt, he fears DMB will defeat his preferred JDM in the 2024 election. The fear can be seen in your face and felt in words. #It is possible.
The Most dangerous politician in Ghana is Kwesi Pratt,he's so cunning, subtile and mischievous in his dealings and words. He can say/do anytime for his personal interest...we didn't hear you advising your paymaster NDC,if you have any advice give it your them, your hate and envy for NPP is known by all, your end is near,Kwesi...!
Advice your party CPP/NDC! first! Kwesi “Double Agent” Pratt!
NPp has been soft on this man. Sammy Gymafi sat on TV n called Kwaku Baako hypocrite (in his face) without rebuke from any of his Parth elders. Miracle friendly interaction with this man made him furious to denigrate and describe Miracle. Look at how he is speaking abt the NPP conference and how he spokE abt NDC when party leaders were all over endorsing mahama ahead of their primaries. Such pettiness must be allowed to fester.
