The National Treasurer of the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP), Dr. Charles Dwamena has bemoaned the non-payment of dues by the members of the party.
According to Dr. Charles Dwamena, some members of the party, especially the delegates, have failed to pay their monthly dues and wondered how they intend to participate in activities of the party without honoring their financial obligations.
He cautioned that any member who is in arrears will forfeit voting in the party's internal elections and all benefits the NPP offers.
He recounted that the dues is in packages from bronze to gold with the bronze category being 2 cedis a month and those under the gold category paying a maximum of GHC 10.
The members, he stated, are encouraged to use the shortcode *920*270# to pay their dues.
He explained the dues is crucial to the party's development as it depends on it to function effectively.
"Imagine 3 million people each paying GHC 2 a month, that is substantial amount of money a month for the party to run with," he said on Peace FM's Friday edition of "Kokrokoo" show.
"Pay it and know you are in good standing to avoid any issues . . . If you haven't paid your dues, you are not a member in good standing," Dr. Dwamena urged.
