Kwamena Duncan has slammed the Leader of the Minority in Parliament, Cassiel Ato Forson over the Minority's threat to picket the Bank of Ghana (BoG) after issuing a 21-day ultimatum to the Governor and his deputies to resign.
The Minority has accused the Governor of the BoG, Dr. Ernest Addison and his deputies of financial malfeasance and request their immediate resignation.
Addressing the media during a "Moment of Truth" series on Tuesday, an event organized by the National Democratic Congress to set the records straight, Ato Forson stated; "We in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) saw the red flags and have consistently warned of the mismanagement of the financial sector by the Governor of the Central Bank and his team of incompetent deputies."
Establishing the facts of their case, he said; "Only last week, the Annual Report and Financial Statement of the Bank of Ghana was released. This report depicted the catastrophic decline of the Bank into a bottomless pit. The report revealed the following astonishing facts:
1. The Bank of Ghana recorded a staggering loss of GHS60.8 billion, which is equivalent to $6 billion.
This is twice the amount we are to receive from our recent IMF bailout. This means the recklessness and mismanagement of the Governor of the Bank of Ghana has cost the nation twice what we are struggling and sacrificing to receive from the IMF amid major conditionalities."
He noted that the NDC and the Minority want the Governor and his deputies to step down, stressing "we are resolved to embark on popular action to occupy the Central Bank and drive out the team of inept, callous and criminal mismanagers of the finances of this country and Save the Bank of Ghana".
But Kwamena Duncan, tackling the issue on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" show, went ad hominem on the Minority Leader.
He rebuked Ato Forson saying since he replaced Haruna Iddrisu as the leader of the Minority, he has brought no significant transformation to the team.
"What value has he added? What has he brought on board? What is that special thing that was seen in him that made the party change Haruna Iddrisu and bring him?", he questioned.
He also ridiculed Ato Forson's fluency in English Language stating "as a leader, his grammar is poor".

As for these people and their NPP party the least said about them the better! A serious matter of concern to Ghanaians is being discussed, and you are here talking about English language............ I now appreciate the meaning of "home sense and book sense". It is a pity these paople in government still have mouth to insult all Ghanaians in our faces without any remorse! Day in day pout, we wake up to new disturbing stories of one government official or the other in financial malfeasance. In my entire life in Ghana, this is the very first time I am hearing of BoG losses! What did we do to deserve this? Where did we go wrong? The wisest thing for these people to do to be apologetic anytime such matters are being discussed instead, their actions, demeanor and words are so so offensive that you are taken aback! You are are here encouraging ECOWAS to go fight Niger, forgetting or failing to really or carefully analyze what brought the circumstances in Niger!!! Are there no elders in NPP to call these people to order to at least, save the last respect Ghanaians have for the NPP?
.. and what have those who speak good grammar taken this country to? They have plunged us into a ditch. Are you not ***barred word*** enough to attribute good English oratory to leadership? The studio in which Mr. Duncan sits and profess his statements was built by Kwame Despite, a man who can not read and write but Mr. Duncan will lick his shoe if approached
Well said @Peters. These crooked politicians think Ghanaians are ediots like them. We are talking about USD6billion of Ghanaians tax money being shared by corrupt politicians and the possibility of them introducing another task in the name of raising revenue to cover shortfalls! It is very annoying and Ghanaians are not angry enough. What you already raised what did you use it for? They simply shared it among themselves and keep coming back for more because as for Ghanaians they are so tsupid that anything you impose on them they won't resist! They will simply give "everything to God" and endure it. Look at our roads. Look at the state of our hospitals! Money meant to fund free SHS only ends in the pockets of party loyalists who supply food to buffer stock with prices inflated to over 300%! What kind of robbish is this? Whilst Ghanaians are suffering a few greedy politicians are robbing us blind! Their banks account are so full to the extent that they now have to hoard the excess in their bedrooms! What kind sick country of kleptomaniacs are we tolerating!
kwamena Duncan, what value have you added to NPP? are you not ashame of you being labelled as academic dishonest and a disgrace not only to your family but fantes as a whole?
I think we ought to judge every leader Ghana has had by his/her contribution to the knowledge/skills that Ghanaians have. It is no secret that Ghanaians aren't as knowledgeable, because if we were, several problems would have gone away a long time ago. Nkrumah brought over a thousand experts to help Ghana in almost every major field of endeavour. The way we used to catch fishes haven't changed, our farming practices having changed.
Kwamena Duncan, please concentrate on the substantive issue. I thought you would have justified the loss of GHC 60 billion by the bank of Ghana. As for Ato not being fluent in the English language , that is not the issue, i thought he's a fante man like you so English may not be his mothers tongue. If you speak big English and run your country into a ditch, can the big English bring you out, if you speak big English but the big English could not let you see that spending GHC 60 billion ,the equivalent of 6 billion dollars and going to the IMF to seek for half (3 billion dollars) of what you spent at home in 12 months doesn't make sen se. If you speak big English and yet your citizens cross into neighboring Burkina Faso and Niger to import tomatoes and onions when your country has comparative advantage than them by way of rain fall is non sense. If you speak big English and big English failed to tell you that using GHC 131 million to maintain your vehicles when same amount of money can buy 87 brand new Toyota Land Cruiser V8 vehicles doesn't make sen se. If you speak big English but that big English could not let you see that spending GHC 357 million to supervise banks in Ghana for just 12 months, only for those banks to record profits if any, whiles you the supervisor, ran at a loss is a very interesting scenario economists will have to unravel. Kindly go back to your drawing board and come back and justify the GHC 60 billion loss by the bank of Ghana. The information minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah is very quiet of late, you would have replaced him, unfortunately the one in charge of appointments has no " reshuffle " in his dictionary, that page has been taken off. Dogs don't kick, they bite. When you see a dog kicking with it's legs, it's like the fight is lost. Like the bank of Ghana, the dog has ran at a loss.
