Spokesperson for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's campaign team, Dennis Miracles Aboagye has called on the presidential aspirants of the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP) and their supporters to stop attacking their opponents contesting their upcoming internal election.
Dennis Miracles Aboagye urged the party faithful to be decorous in their comments stressing there will be the need for them to all rally behind the person who is elected to be their flagbearer.
He noted that discrediting one another isn't what the party wants, therefore advising that "we need to stick together and not call other candidates' names, attack other candidates, run them down. It does not help".
He added that those who have made it their trade to attack the reputation of other aspirants are walking on a slippery road.
"They should stop it," he admonished and asked the aspirants to bring their supporters to order saying "I will plead with those doing the attacks to tone down as much as possible".
He made this appeal on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo".

@Ghanaba, supporting too is it by force. A few other MPs and a deputy minister supports Alan and theres nothing wrong. What's the problem if people willingly support Bawumia? There's no unfairness in this matter. The rest should try to persuade others to support them. Same way 9 candidates have ganged up against 1 and attacking him on every front
Almost all if not all the aspirants have been in politics for long. As to why some think it's insults that will secure them victory is mind boggling. Matured as they are one will only expect them to preach their track records and what they can do differently to make Ghana a better place. They should also remember that this contest is not the general elections. As they go about attacking each other their main opponent the NDC is taking note of all that's happening and will use same against who ever emerges victorious at the end of the day. NPP supporters nationwide are in the first place not happy about the style of governance of the current NPP leadership both at the level of the party and government. Anybody who wins to represent the NPP as their presidential candidate faces a Herculean task in convincing the ordinary NPP supporter to make sacrifices again. The road contractors especially those who won contracts from 2017 to date are most likely to be NPP followers including the school feeding caterers, buffer stock food suppliers among others are all not happy because they have done jobs for government for which payments have not been made, imagine the number of dependents they have. This is what should concern the NPP leadership not attacks on each other. If you attack my preferred aspirant and brings him down to win the primaries, what of if i decide not to vote for you in the general elections? Can you force me to vote? Do you even know me? They better be careful not to shoot themselves in the foot. If you use all sorts of unprintable words on your brother in public, if tomorrow another person use same unprintable words on him, can you complain?
Then be fair to all the candidates and stop supporting Bawumia. Why all the MPs and ministers are behind Bawumia whiles all the candidates paid equal filing fees? It is not fair. Be prepared to go to opposition if you don't play fair.
