Charles Owusu has predicted the outcome of the Assin North by-election scheduled for Tuesday, 27th June, 2023.
The Assin North by-election is to elect a new parliamentary candidate for the constituency following the disqualification of their Member of Parliament, James Gyakye Quayson.
The Supreme Court ruled that Mr. Gyakye Quayson cannot hold himself as Assin North MP following a petition that he hadn't nullified his dual citizenship during the time he was elected.
Despite the court ruling, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is still presenting James Gyakye Quayson to contest the by-election.
Making his submissions on Peace FM's morning show "Kokrokoo", the former Head of Monitoring Unit at the Forestry Commission, Charles Owusu says Mr. Gyakye Quayson will lose the election.
"The NDC candidate will lose. Why will they vote for him? For 2 and half years since he was elected, apart from his going to court, what other thing has he done for Assin North residents?", he told host Nana Yaw Kesseh.
He asked the constituents to elect "somebody who has a peace of mind to represent them" which is to say they should vote for the New Patriotic Party candidate.
"The NDC will lose the Assin North by-election...The man has lost already. What is he going to do there again?", he exclaimed.

I think Gyakye Quayson will win but there would be another by-election.
Why did you leave out Charles Owusu's comments about Frimpong Boateng report? He called Frimpong Boateng "saint" and went ahead to chastise Ghanaians for not standing up for the truth or for being hypocrites. I thank Charles for being bold on this matter. I think honest right thinking Ghanaians should not idolize individuals but give praise where praise is due and reprimand in same manner. Frimpong Boateng has goofed and I will always say it. he may be a good physician but certainly not a good leader, let alone a good politician. Ghanaians, especially Ghanaian journalists and researchers must stand for the facts/truth no matter matter what! I hope those who are considering court action will follow through so we will know who is telling the truth
@Kwame, it’s becoming boring now. Give us a break.
It is strategical prudent to vote for Gyakye Quayeson for more development for the good people of Assin North. REASONS being that the bye Elections currently has undoubtedly brought more Developments from the Central government to the people as a result enormous sacrifice and perseverance of a prominent citizen of Assin North. The persistent of GYAKYE QUAYESON will go down in history as a man who loves and his perseverance has brought more development unto his constituency more than most MPS IN PARLIAMENT CURRENTLY. ASSIN NORTH people want more development. In addition, With the current court cases pending against Quayeson , there is a high possibility of another bye Elections if Qayeson wins 27th June Bye Elections. Quayeson winning the June 27th Elections will open more flood gates for more developments and goodies to the good people of Assin North. A vote for Quayeson will keep the flow of more goodies to the people. Your vote is for more development. A win/vote for Quayeson will bring more development to the people. For the wheels of more developments to continue and projects not be abandoned like KUMAWA BYE ELECTIONS, BECAUSE OF ANOTHER possible bye elections, Vote Quayeson Gyakye and keep the wheels of progress development from central government alive. A vote for NPP will derail the possible impact of ANOTHER Bye Elections will quench should Honourable Quayeson losses the pending case in court if he may not be a member of parliament AT THE TIME OF THE VERDICT. Politicians have made us to believe that it is during bye election period that they are able to fasten the pace of development. Let the good people rise to the occasion and vote for Honourable Gyakye Quayeson to create a room for another possible by elections and its consequential effect of another chain of development spreeee. keep hope alive and vote Quayeson. Assin North deserve more development through another possible bye election.
