The Executive Director of the Alliance for Social Equity and Public Accountability (ASEPA), Mensah Thompson says the governing New Patriotic Party will go into opposition in 2025.
According to him, Ghanaians are ready to vote out the ruling party because they have failed them abysmally.
Contributing to Peace FM's panel discussion programme "Kokrokoo", Mensah Thompson argued that next year's elections "is going to be not about the NDC or John Mahama. The 2024 elections is going to be a referendum on the achievements of President Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia".
He told host Nana Yaw Kesseh that if he were the advisor to Vice President Dr. Bawumia, he would tell him to "go and sit down quietly" stressing there is absolutely no way the NPP will return to power.
"This government is going into opposition. It is not a secret anymore. Last week, I met somebody from the German embassy who was telling me [he just came from Germany], he said, look, our intelligence tells us that the NDC is the next government for the Republic of Ghana.
"There is absolutely no doubt. It is no longer a doubt that the NDC is forming the next government. Whether it is Mahama or Duffour, the next government of the Republic of Ghana is the NDC. It is no longer a secret," he exclaimed.
