The Deputy Ashanti Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Baah Acheamfour says no one can intimidate him or any member of his party executives after photos of them wearing military-like camouflage attire went viral.
He said on NEAT FM’s morning show, 'Ghana Montie' that some anonymous persons he believes are members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) have threatened them but they are “fearless”.
He linked the peril to persons associated with President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo who he claimed will “match them squarely.”
“I have worked with the President [Akufo Addo] before and he is noted for this kind of notoriety. When I see his intimidation tactics, I see it,” he noted without any proof.
Baah Acheamfour also indicated that the camouflage attire fabrics were ordinary replicas sewed by their respective tailors and had nothing related to impersonating the military.
“It is a normal camouflage material we were wearing and not military uniforms,” Baah Acheamfour told host McJerry Osei Agyemang.
6 NDC officials granted self-recognizance bail
The Ashanti Regional Police Command has granted self-recognizance bail to six Ashanti regional executives of the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC) who were arrested for illegal use of military camouflage party campaign activities.
The executives were invited on Monday, 20th March 2023 through a phone call by the police command, an invitation the party described as disrespectful and hence declined it.
But the police later officially invited the NDC officials through the regional Crime Officer hence their presence at the police command.
