Majority Leader and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Hon Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu has denied reports that he bribed some Members of Parliament before agreeing to accompany the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to the just ended Akwasidae Festival in Kumasi.
According to him, he was out of the country and only returned some few days ago prior to the festival.
Speaking on Okay FM's 'Ade Akye Abia' programme, he explained that he was surprised to hear that he has been accused of paying the eighty Members of Parliament who joined the Vice President in Kumasi for the Akwasidae Festival which was hosted by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
"Who paid the money and where is the proof? . . . Are they trying to say those MP's and former Members of Parliament following Dr. Afriyie Akoto, Alan Kyeremanteng, Ken Agyapong have all collected money?" he asked.
Majority of the Members of Parliament (MPs) belonging to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) joined Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to one of the biggest festivals of the Asantes, Akwasidae in Kumasi.
The event was hosted by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace where invitation was extended to the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
Almost 90 members of the majority caucus signed up to attend the event with the Vice President.

All fingers are not equal. I would like to draw your attention to the fact that Dr Bawumia is the Vice President and has not declared his intention to run for the presidency in 2024.
