A member of the Communication team of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ellen Daaku has commended President Akufo-Addo for sacking Charles Adu Boahen.
President Akufo-Addo earlier this week dismissed the Minister of State at the Finance Ministry over an "appearance fee" allegation against Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
A statement from the Director of Communications at the Jubilee House, Eugene Arhin said the President took the decision after being made aware of the allegations levelled against the Minister in the exposé dubbed, “Galamsey Economy,” by TigerEye PI.
“The President spoke to Mr. Adu Boahen, after which he took the decision to terminate his appointment,” the statement added.
Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo has also referred the matter to the Office of the Special Prosecutor for further investigations.
Ellen Daaku who was interacting with Nana Yaw Kesseh on Peace FM’s 'The Platform' programme asked the President not to stop at just the dismissal of Charles Adu Boahen.
"There should be more . . . there should be more reshuffling letters. We need a change, especially following this incident. We need a change in the system, there are more Ministers who must go. Some are excellent in their ministries, they can take the same energy to other Ministries. We shouldn't wait for another exposé to come out before taking an action," she urged President Akufo-Addo.
