Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) says it will be hypocritical for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to criticize government following a recent utility tariff hike.
According to him, the percentage of increment in utility prices under the erstwhile Mahama administration cannot be compared to that of the ruling party; hence the NDC has no moral right to complain.

Background
The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission has announced an upward review of electricity and water by 5.94% and 2.22% respectively.
In a statement, the PURC explained, the increase in tariffs was determined by the Automatic Adjustment Formula (AAF). If you may recall, the PURC in June 2019 announced an 11% increase in electricity which took effect July 1.
In view of these increments, the NDC has asked the ruling government to apologize for deceiving Ghanaians.
