“Revocation shouldn’t end there, prosecution must follow otherwise Ghanaians will not know the difference between Mahama’s administration and us; we will be tagged as deceitful,” said the Member of Parliament for Subin Constituency, Eugene Boakye Antwi.
The MP, who doubles as the Deputy Minister for Works and Housing, was reacting to the recent shutdown by the BoG of some 23 savings and loans companies.
Speaking on Tuesday’s edition of Peace FM's morning show ‘Kokrokoo’, the Subin MP believes people must go to jail for causing so much damage in the banking sector.
According to him, if no prosecution is done, President Akufo-Addo’s will to fight corruption will be questioned; adding “people have already started talking”.
“Eyes are on us to deliver and so we must be careful…the complaints are too many. If something radical doesn’t happen…I speak today as a Member of Parliament and there are a lot of complaints from our constituents. Something must be done; it must not be business as usual; it is time to act. We are in for hard times if something radical doesn’t happen in terms of prosecution," he added.
Speaking passionately on the show, the deputy minister reiterated that if the ruling government doesn’t prosecute anyone “how Mahama was removed from office, that will also happen to us”.

God Bless this MP, all we need is PROSECUTION to serve as deterrent to the so called Public officials who think this is the system from 1957 and so we must continue with it.That is dangerous.Public Servants and political appointees are part of this problem. and Mr. Prez. it is not business as Usual please, The state must publish those who did that harm from all the former BOG Governors, all the supervisors must be prosecuted They are not different from the the Young SCAMMERS we see them around .And also the so called BANK OWNERS who made bad investment with peoples Money. It is so Sad! When we do this to ourselves and later we turn to BLAME "THE QUEEN OF ENGLAND"that WE are suffering because of them. It is simply NON'SENSE...GOD SAVE THIS COUNTRY....
WELL SAID MP
THANK U MR. DEPUTY BUT VERY SOON HE WILL BE TUG AS AN NDC PERSON BECAUSE HE SPOKE THE TRUTH AS A GHANAIAN. NOW ABOUT 5 MILLION PEOPLE VOTED FOR NPP 4 MILLION ARE NOW DISAPOINTED AND THEY DON'T LIKE TO BE CRITICIZE. WHEN U PEAK YR MIND THEN UR NDC. MAY GOD BLESS THIS MP? NPP WILL SURELY GO TO OPPOSITION BCOS OF THE FOLLOWING PEOPLE. 1. FINANCE MINISTER KENEDY YAO OFORI ATTA. 2. ERNEST ADISION. 3. GABI O DARKU. 4. SEC. THE WORKERS OF ALL COLLAPSE BANKS/MICRO-FINANCE COMPANY AND THE MOST MENZGOLD CUSTOMERS/WORKERS ALL WILL SURELY VOTE AGAINST NPP.
I also feel sad within my heart for Ghana. What is this MR. President. when you are closing the banks you dont think of the customers of the banks and the invested company. For one year we have gone through a lot. I must say your approach of dealing with this financial issues is very bad. Please come again.
WHEN YOU HEAR TRUTH FOR THE FIRST TIME FROM NPP STALWART....THEN U KNOW TIMES ARE BAD FOR THEM... U CANT ***barred word*** US IF WE DONT SEE CHANGES IN INFRASTRUCTURE AND ACCOUNTABLITY...THEN FORGET IT , JM MIGHT PULL A SURPRISE ON YOU...IS NOT LIKE JM IS PERFECT, I HOPE HE HAS LEARNT SOME LESSONS THOUGH, THEN HE WILL MAKE IT... BUT EYES ARE WATCHING...
Nothing can be truer than what this Deputy Minister has said and it is the duty of the government to do what this noble gentleman has said. I will buy a ticket and come to Ghana and campaign at my own expense against NPP if what this man has said is not persued. What would be the difference between the government of Mahama and Nana Addo if these nation wreckers are not put before the law? And to Nana Akufo Addo, please wake up because there are a lot of rotten apples in your party. They seem to like you but not, especially those very close to you. Nana, be thankful to God all the time because there are many dark-minded NPPs around you. THe hand of God is on you. Be open minded but be tactful, and never be shaken. A lot of people pray genuinely for you and God listens. And never, ever neglect your VP Bawumiah in whatever decision you take. He loves you dearly. Do not spare the rod when necessary else the bad boys will let you down. As for Mahama, never be afraid of him for he is just a toothless bull dog. He barks but cannot bite. But open your eyes and open your ears not to the Iscariots.
Prosecution you say, ha, ha, ha, what a joke. I have been defrauded of tens of thousands of dollars in Ghana, the ***barred word*** threatened to shoot me, police could not find the reports of the two witnesses of the threats against me, In fact police could not find any of my complaints to police except a later complaint made at the Regional Headquarters which I don't think they read. Instead they heard a pack of lies from the ***barred word*** and didn't bother to hear from me in detail nor my several witnesses, nor look at my substantial written and video evidence when I attempted to bring the matter before the regional headquarters.. Prosecution you say, I say what a joke!
you are already in opposition, me and my family will vote massively against the NPP..this government is clueless, shallow and empty
Oh my God what a truthful passionate submission. This MP and Mr Kusi Boafo should come together and captain the crusade to wake up President Akufo Addo otherwise there shall be great disappointment in Ghanaians that Voted for the Change. I went to Npp office for sometimes and prayed for Nana Addo b4 elections 2016. God told me of Nana Addo's victory. I wrote it on my Facebook page. Many silent Men of God prayers did the miracle. Nana Addo must be extra careful. He must not allow Ghanaians use same anger Against Pres. Kuffor that cost Nana Addo and Ghanaians 2009
Well said Mr minister. I think this man is the only wise politician I have seen in our current dispensation. Some of us had high hopes when this government came to power but their performance is below standard. We should all bow down our heads in shame.
