Ghana’s President Nana Akufo-Addo has been named as Africa’s best president by virtue of a poll conducted by a Canadian-based research organisation ''Leaders of tomorrow''.
Releasing the best and outstanding list of 2018 presidents in Africa, Ghana's President Akufo-Addo emerged top of the list.
This follows a similar research conducted by US-based think tank, World Vision Forum which placed President Akufo-Addo 1st on the list in Africa and 3rd in the world of best presidents with vision.
The Canadian research team, ‘‘Leaders of tomorrow’’, believes since Nana Akufo-Addo won the 2016 elections, he has been the man of the people with high approval rating because for his positive policies such as the free secondary education, Planting for Food and Jobs, I District 1 Dam, NAPCO, among others.
Also - his commitment to the development of Ghana, the near absence of corruption allegations under his regime and his government's respect of the rule of law are some of the reasons attributed to his win.
The second on the list is the president of Botswana Ian Khama Khama, the third is president of Mauritius Ameenah Gurib, president of Seychelles Danny Faure was placed 4th while the president of Gambia Adama Barrow placed 5th.
Meanwhile, Ghanaian ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, has been named in The Africa Report’s inaugural ranking of top Africans who control the levers of power across politics, business and the arts.
The list features billionaire barons to unpredictable peacemakers and soft-power superstars.
