An aide to the Chief Executive Officer of the Forestry Commission, Charles Owusu has described a decision by Parliament to construct a new chamber as an 'own goal'.
The new chamber which has been highly criticized according to Majority Leader, Osei Kyei Mensa Bonsu will cost not more than $200m.
Speaking on the issue during a panel discussion on Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo', Charles Owusu asked the ruling government to be careful with its actions because they 'will not stay in power forever'.
"Remember you are to serve Ghanaians and not the other way around; that was why we voted for you and so we have the right to determine what you (MPs) do. Constructing the new chamber is a very bad idea. This is an own goal; they should remember their position is transient . . . we will not accept this," he opined.
