Ashanti Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress [NDC], Kwame Zu has said the ruling New Patriotic Party [NPP] will not succeed in their plot to intimidate members of the NDC in the Asawase constituency in Kumasi.
There were reports of violent clashes in the Asokore Mampong Municipality last Friday during the ongoing Limited Voters' Registration exercise following the slapping of an NPP lady by a leading member of the NDC in the constituency.
NPP’s National Youth Organizer, Henry Nana Boakye who had visited Asawase to monitor events said, “he was surprised about the open display of violence without any arrests.”
He however wants the police to deal with all the troublemakers in Asawase, but the NDC thinks that is an attempt to frustrate them in the constituency.
“No one can intimidate us in Asawase,” Regional Secretary, Kwame Zu said in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’.
