The Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri Constituency, Eastern Region, Frank Annor Dompreh has urged the National Identification Authority (NIA) to ensure that the aim of the Ghana Card registration exercise is achieved.
According to him, the money given to the authority can be used for another project in the Akufo-Addo administration; hence they should be vigilant in ensuring that the exercise is successful.
"There should be a conscious education programme . . . they should step up . . . the amount of money invested in this exercise can be used for another project; so, they need to be up and doing. This is one important exercise that when we get it wrong it won’t be good," he indicated on Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo', Monday.
He made these remarks on the back of numerous complains that have come up following the registration exercise in the Greater Accra Region.
