The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has elected Madam Lydia Seyram Alhassan, a widow of the late Ayawaso West Wuogon MP, Emmanuel Kyeremanten Agyarko as their candidate for the upcoming election in January 31, 2019.
She polled 441 of the total votes.
There were 668 valid votes and two rejected ballots. In all, a total of 670 votes were cast.
This means Ms Alhassan will be contesting the seat with Delali Brempong of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The primary which took place on Saturday, was supervised by John Boadu, NPP General Secretary, Peter Mac Manu, former National Chairman of the party and Henry Nana Boakye, National Youth Organiser.
