The Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central, Isaac Adongo, has challenged President Akufo-Addo to a 1 kilometre walk following the successful completion of over 10 kilometre walk by former President John Dramani Mahama during the NDC's Unity Walk on Saturday.
The legislator, addressing some sympathizers of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at the St. Johns Park in Bolgatanga after the Unity Walk on Saturday, May 5, 2018 asked the President to attempt a 1 kilometre walk if he has the level of energy and stamina Mr. Mahama demonstrated during their walk for unity.
Mr. Adongo in his welcome speech stated that voting former President Mahama out of power in past one and half years by Ghanaians meant throwing away the treasure that he was. He added that the NDC fraternity also lost a personality.
He was, however, quick to add that the return of Mr. Mahama, and his active participation in events of the NDC is the beginning of greater things for the party.
He said the show of resilience, energy, enthusiasm and stamina by Mr. Mahama and the party during the Unity Walk is clear manifestation that the NDC will not die but bounce back to glory in election 2020.
“On behalf of the party in the region, I will like to welcome all of you particularly our distinguished guest, his Excellency and forever Excellency and will be back Excellency, John Dramani Mahama…. Today is a very important day for the NDC family. This is the day we have seen what we lost over the last one and half years. Over the last one and half years, the people of Ghana have lost a treasure in John Dramani Mahama and the NDC has lost something we cannot find and it is a big privilege to see him. With the level of resilience and energy in the unity walk.
“And what you have seen signifies the resilience of the NDC. When they say the NDC will die, that is when the NDC germinates and today, you have seen the resilience, stamina of the NDC. With this stamina, nobody can stop the NDC in 2020 Isha Allahu,” Mr. Adongo said.
Speaking on the banking sector, Mr. Adongo said the inability of government to create an enabling environment for domestic banks to thrive has made Mobile Money a better choice in transacting business in Ghana. He said unlike the Mobile Money system, banks in Ghana are collapsing under the full glare and leadership of President Akufo-Addo.
“Today, when you have a mobile money account; when you have a vodaphone mobile money account, it will not collapse. When you have an MTN mobile money account it will not collapse. When you have Airtel mobile money account it is safe, when you have a bank account it is the worse and riskiest account to have,” he stated.

THIS ADONGO HAS NEVER MADE ANY WISE STATEMENT BOTH AS IN GOVERNMENT OR OUTSIDE GOVERNMENT. HE SPEAKS FO0OLISHLY ALL THE TIME. I HOPE PEOPLE OF BOLIGATANGA CENTRAL WOULD FIND SOME ONE WITH BRAINS TO REPRESENT THEM IN THE NEXT ELECTION. WHAT GOOD WILL COME TO YOUR CONSTITUENCY IF ADONGO IS YOUR MP?
Pra to get there, how old is your father and can you compare your father to the president?people like this things call themselves honourables, honourables my shiiiiit.
Do you think about the age different at all, think before you talk hungry politician
When we say these NDC former ministers are clueless its just an understatement, do you think governance is about physical strength? being a president you have to think on your toes and that's what Nana Addo has that Mahama hasn't got, Mahama is not smart when it comes to governance he only knows how to insult, incompetent, a ***barred word***, and a loot the most corrupt president ever to rule Ghana by default
childish talk. wait till u r 70 n lets c. know that all shall grow
when you are unemployed, what you have the most is idle time on your hands. so you can afford to be frivolous with it by walking 100 km. The current President is fully employed in the the service of this nation so obviously has no time to walk even a 100 meters. So please keep walking while we also keep fixing the mess you bequeathed the nation. tenk yew
When Nana was walking and campaigning, Mahama was riding state helicopters and claiming he has fixed our roads. Mahama can walk 100km but he shouldn't stop cos he will be walking 1000km after 2020. Create, Loot and Share ex-prez
I find it difficult to understand why the MP thinks that a necessary and sufficient condition for being a good president relates to how far one can walk. Our presidents are elected and paid for their vision and what they can achieve for the country in terms of development and general well-being.
Papa adongo the ***barred word*** man.imfact you are a disgrace to the MPs fratanity,a childish talk indeed.Your face clearly shows the way you talk.
You think the role of the President is to walk? Interesting. That's why this country is like this.
