President Akufo-Addo has described as 'baseless' reports that he has legalised same-sex marriage in the country.
A statement released on Saturday and signed by the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin, indicated that: "the attention of the Office of the President has been drawn to comments made by the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, as reported by the online news outlet, The Pulse, to the effect that same-sex marriage has been approved by President Akufo-Addo.
Speaking at the NDC's health/unity walk, on Saturday, 28th April, 2018, in Kumasi, the NDC General Secretary is reported to have stated that "Nana Addo says men will marry men, and women will marry women."
This is nothing but a baseless and vile fabrication, by no less a person than the General Secretary of the leading opposition party in Ghana. For the avoidance of doubt, President Akufo-Addo has NEVER stated anywhere that, under his presidency, "men will marry men, and women will marry women"
Indeed, the President remains focussed on delivering on his mandate, and improving on the quality of lives of the Ghanaian people. It will NOT be under his Presidency that same-sex marriage will be legalised in
Ghana.
We will neither ask for an apology or retraction from the NDC General Secretary, who, obviously, is still stuck in the age of the politics of lies, deceit and propaganda, which was rejected decisively by discerning Ghanaians in the 2016 general elections.
We will rather appeal to Ghanaians to, once again, ignore the falsehoods of the NDC, and urge Mr. Asiedu Nketiah to concentrate his energies on uniting his divided and discredited party.

Am not surprised of this at all because someone who calls himself (nana akuffooooool addo) a lawyer and has never won a case before. he looks like a monkey, resembles a dwarf and talks like a frog. He completed legon with a third class so never be taken aback when is not bold to declare his stand. ***barred word*** NPP flagbearer who calls himself a president. oloman with no sense. am sure he is having a mental problem because a child who is in the preschool can even declare his stand. but nana akuffooool addo is better than borromia! I rest my case.
In Ghana if some says the through we will against that person what NDC saying please kindly listing to them and learn and move the nation forward and stop complaining.
Only lazy minds would swallow this gutter water coming from uneducated palm wine tapper whose second food is sucking humankind blood, the deadly mosquito.
I know Asiedu Nketiah and his supporters in the NDC have become senile in this game of propaganda they have been playing over the years. Some people say, sometimes, silence is golden. How many people will be bold enough to proclaim they are gay in this country because the president has not come out with a statement about 'No Gayism'? Everybody knows that our cultures and traditions frown on such a thing. I think people should discuss the economy and livelihood issues and discard this 'gay' topic.
FOLKS THE NO NEED ARRESTING GENERAL MOSQUITO/ASIEDU NKESTIAH, HE AND HIS NDC FOLKS WILL ROOT IN OPPOSITION WITH THOSE ***barred word*** AND BASELESS TALKS. FIRE BURN THEM ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
listen to yourselves weak and lazy brains!! if someone accuses you of wrongdoing is it your accuser who has to prove your quilt or the you rather who has to prove your innocence??? In Ghana every law is passed by Parliament and given an Act number or by an Executive Instrument. Let's demand from Asiedu Nketia when the law legalising gayism was passed in Parliament and what the Act number is or Executive instrument number is!! Ghanaians are too emotional and waste a lot time arguing about things that don't really matter. Think through this again!!!
Why has the prez been quiet on this issue .
Yes we known that it is abomination for all human being and also through the statement it indicate that it was propaganda (yes we like it to be propaganda because we are Ghanaian in African)and for the Presdent of Republic of Ghana to get a good name He should came out and let his people known that He is a Man of God. Because people are saying it was true(please let them know the truth they are disgracing your name Mr President )Coment is not insult just give a good advise and stop insulting one aother.thank you
I will blame Mr President for all these. He should boldly come out to denounce this issue
If president Nana actual beliefe what NDC is saying is not true this I simple he should boldly come out and say it to the world if not the statement hold water
