President Nana Akufo-Addo has come under criticisms following some of the answers he provided to questions asked him at his encounter with the media on Tuesday, July 18, 2017.
The President had his maiden meeting with the media at the Flagstaff House, inviting questions on national issues and his governance system from them.
During the meeting, President Nana Addo was seen passing on some questions to his Veep, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and his appointees to answer them since he believed they would be in a better position to give a clear account of the situation.
But the President has been slammed by his opponents and some Ghanaians, saying he wasn't on top of issues, and that his inability to provide answers to all the questions himself proves why he opted out of having a debate with Ex-President John Dramani Mahama.
But commenting on the issue on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo', seasoned journalist Kweku Baako strongly held that the President's delivery was splendid.
According to him, President Nana Addo proved that he is a "consummate democrat" and a person who believes in the limitations of humans.
He explained that "in any case, it’s a matter of style . . . If the President’s team attends the press conference and there are some questions he feels to allow one of his lieutenants to answer, whatever Bawumia said is representative of the President’s view. So, really I don’t see where we’re even attempting to make that case. There’s no case there.”
Mr. Baako was pleased with the President's approach to direct some questions to his appointees and the Vice President because to him, "that was the language of a consummate democrat and somebody who believes that we, as humans, don’t have total control over ourselves, our future and so forth. We don’t. So, he was just being a realistic person, very pragmatic; very sincere, very honest.”

What NANA did was the correct one. As a President and have your Minister in Charge of Health. If some one ask the President HOW MANY DOCTORS and NURSES are at post say in that Ministry. What is WRONG if the owner of the Ministry is around and the President tell him to Answer it. Hear, if the Minister could not answer then, it is a case. Because he should KNOW those statistics. The President want to see or know that the Ministry is doing well. PERIOD. As Mahama was answering ALL QUESTIONS put at him brought his downfall. But Nana will let all his MINISTERS work and know what he or she is doing at their respective places.
No wonder, when the NDC super president John Mahama was asked whether he's taken bribe before he responded by asking whether as a human being or as a president.
I think passing questions is not a problem to me but the fact is the president was not on top of issues
INDEED THERE'S NO CASE HERE, NANA ADDO DID JUSTICE TO EVERY QUESTION AND HE WAS ON POINT. ALLOWING A MINISTER TO ATTEMPT TO ANSWER QUESTION DOESN'T MEAN NANA IS NOT ON TOP OF ISSUES, IT'S A STYLE AND SO LET NO ONE COPY BECAUSE NPP BY THAT TIME WILL RESIST, IF THIS IS THE WAY WE WANT TO SEE. A PRESIDENT IS ACCOUNTABLE JUST AS THE MINISTERS HENCE ALLOWING THAT STYLE TO HAPPEN. SO DOES THAT MEAN THAT A SURBORDINATE IS NOT ACCOUNTABLE OR RESPONSIBLE OR WHAT? NDC AND ITS SYCOPHANTS
LET ME ALSO ACCESS NANA. AM SORRY WHAT I SAW LOOKED LIKE HE IS NOT IN CHARGE, BUT HIS APPOINTEES RATHER AND IF SOMETHING HAPPENS THEY R THE PEOPLE WE SHLD GO FOR ANSWERS FROM. NANA PAAA ASUALAPAZ!!
Nana Addo is not a conman.simple.
Nana Addo would have been equally criticized if he had not passed on some questions.
ONLY NATION WRECKERS LIKE THE OPPOSITION NDC WILL CHAVE A PROBLEM WITH WHAT HIS EXCELLENCY NANA ADDO DID. HE DEMONSTRATED THAT HE IS A COMPLETE DEMOCRAT BY INCLUDING HIS MINISTERS AND THE GOOD BRAINS, DR BAWUMIA. GO MR PRESIDENT. WE LOVE YOUR STLE: LETS HAVE MORE OF IT!!!"JEALOUSY GO SHAME", TO BORROW THE WORDS IN ABRANT3E AMAKYE DEDE'S 1980 SOMETHING SONG.
I wonder what this man would have said if JM had passed on simple question for PAKWASI to answer. Baako not all Ghanaians are Dumb. Simple the President needs Free Education.
Nana Addo has attended the presidential debate twice and he answered all questions that was directed at him he didnt call anybody to answer the questions for him that is why this ***barred word*** noises the NDC is making does not make sense to sensible Ghanaians. The NDC should put thier part in order and look for a sensible and incorruptible leader instead of wasting our time on ***barred word*** comments on Nana Addo. What president did recently is a matter of style. He just want his ministers to feel part of the media encounter. As an opposition leader Nana Addo spoke about every issue in Ghana so it is infantile for anybody to think that now that he is the president he cant speak on all issues again. NDC fo) ne gyimiii de3
