Alhaji Bature, Managing Editor of the Alhajj Newspaper has said he is not least surprised that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) suffered a humiliating defeat in the 2016 General Elections.
According to him, he warned them when the signs were clear that they were losing but they rather tagged him a New Patriotic Party (NPP) member instead of heeding to his advice.
Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Madam Charlotte Osei on Friday 9th December declared the three-time Flagbearer of the largest opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Akufo Addo winner of the general elections after he polled 5,716, 026 votes to beat the incumbent President John Dramani Mahama who garnered 4,713,277 votes out of the 10,615,361 valid votes cast.
The results were votes from 271 out of 275 constituencies as declared by the Electoral Commission Chairperson, Charlotte Osei.
Aside losing the Presidential seat, the NDC lost most of its Parliamentary seats to the NPP of which the party was so confident on winning due to the massive infrastructural development seen during President Mahama’s reign.
Speaking on Adom TV on Tuesday, Alhaji Bature emphasized that it would have been a different story if the NDC heeded to his advice.
He believes the behavior of some top officials in the NDC made the party unattractive to many Ghanaians, a situation he says contributed to the loss of the party.
Meanwhile, Alhaji Bature is of the view that Ghanaians made a mistake by voting President Mahama out because he is the best President Ghana has ever had in terms of Infrastructural.
He counseled the NDC to rejuvenate and bounce back stronger in the next elections which Is in the year 2020.

These NDC folks still think Ghanaians are that shallow??? These infrastructural projects were the very vehicles through which the NDC perpetrated some of the most gargantuan corruption schemes on this nation vide their create, loot and share machinery - and yet the NDC still want Ghanaians to applaud them for their "no account being rendered" so-called infrastructural developments
HE COLLECTED V8
Well said guys. If governance was all about infrastructure projects then we would be better off having engineers as presidents. These people can be so dim. When Kufuor with 20 billion put up massive infrastructure projects and indeed far more roads than Mahama he said that to vote on that basis meant you had a weak mind. So we all took cue after he borrowed so massively to build highly inflated projects which we had to py for with our taxes not to vote for him. Ghana would sink in debts if he had been given another term. NDC lost mainly because they were Thievessss and totally incompetent
What work is involved in infrastructure development, especially in a country where so much infrastructure is already lacking? Borrowing huge sums and throwing wastefully at infrastructure projects, some of which have not been well prioritized only serve to sink the economy. Take for instance the building of an airport in Ho when the eastern corridor road has not been completed. Even with common sense one can tell that the eastern corridor road will have immediate and significant impact on the economy in the Volta Region and Ghana at large than an airport in Ho.
is governance all about infrastructure? did mahama use his own money? ur understanding of being in government is shallow and u will remain in opposition for long
