The police have closed the road in front of the President-elect, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s, residence, leading to the De Youngsters International School at Nima, Accra to traffic.
Residents and other commuters who hitherto used that portion of the road would have to use the rear of the house or other roads near the Nima roundabout.
The Nima Divisional Police Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Vance Gariba, said the move had become necessary because the area had become a security zone.
ACP Gariba said it was international practice that once a presidential candidate is elected President, steps are taken to protect him.
He said the National Security and State Protocol would ensure that the area was secure.
ACP Gariba said petty traders, and vulcanisers, who operate in front of the President-elect’s house, would also be relocated, adding that they have already been spoken to, of plans to relocate them.
He said the pavement along the President-elect’s house adjacent the Nima police station had also been barricaded.
ACP Gariba appealed to the public, especially commuters, traders and other road users, to bear with the police.

These is the change Ghanaian want. Nobody should complaint let us suffer for it
Who has Kokuvi Anyidoho's contact number/email address. I just want to communicate with him directly about some horrible things he said about Nana Addo. Koku if you, by any chance, see this post please contact me on [email protected] Many thanks indeed
God is really God. Security zone indeed! A month ago this road was like any other road in Ghana and the NDC never even though of one particular individual resident along that road because of whom they should not used it for their health walk. I think the NDC members still need to do more health walks in other to keep fit. They should go there on Saturday for another health walk.
KAFUI I ALSO TINK THAT,THAT ROAD SHOULD BE NAMED "K.WA.SIA.BINTI" ROAD.
The road should not just be blocked, it should be called " OPANA" road or "HEALTHWALK" ROAD or "STONES" road. Heheheheheheeheheheheh
Good move Ghana Police. @Emilly, kindly pay a little more so your President elect could be protected, at least just for a while because he will move for Flagstaff house
Is this not the DESTINY CHANGER GOD ? Hy3br3 sesafo no no. I have learnd to fear God basaaa. But seriously i pity those friends infront of the now security zone. I wonder what they will say; the wining is rather their doom. I wish they are properly relocated and the president elect tries to maintain touch with them coz they had become friends with Nana Addo. God bless our homeland the Gh.
If any man is man enough or has more than two balls, he should go and do losers health walk there again.
