The Electoral Commission has cleared four presidential aspirants to contest the December 7 election after a ‘shocking’ disqualification of PPP’s Papa Kwesi Nduom and NDP’s Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings among others.
The four are, NDC’s John Dramani Mahama, NPP’s Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, CPP’s Ivor Greenstreet and independent candidate, Jacob Osei Yeboah.
Addressing the press, Electoral Commission boss, Mrs Charlotte Amah Osei explained why the four were accepted by the committee after ‘careful’ scrutiny.
“Finally, these are the nominations that have been accepted by the electoral commission by meeting the requirement of the law. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party, John Dramnani Mahama of the NDC, Ivor Kwabena Greenstreet of the CPP and Mr Jacob Osei Yeboah, independent candidate” she said
