Activities in Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo region where the ruling National Democratic Congress [NDC] is launching its manifesto came to a standstill due to a heavy downpour in the early hours of Saturday.
Emmanuel Henryson Okrah, PeaceFM's Brong Ahafo Regional Correspondent, reported that intermittent rain in the area since yesterday [Friday], nearly hampered preparations on the, Sunyani Coronation Park, venue for the event.
According to him, everyone was forced to take refuge under the canopies whiles the surface of the pitch at the venue has become muddy, hindering the work of journalists dispatched to cover the event.
Despite the heavy downpour, there was however no indication the launch was going to be cancelled, he reports.
Over 50,000 supporters are expected to gather at the Sunyani Coronation Park to welcome party executives including President John Mahama for the big occasion.
Mahama has already given highlights of the much-awaited policy document in Accra over the weekend - revealing that his second term is likely to give Ghana five extra administrative regions, e-text books to students, over 20 polyclinics, two more psychiatric hospitals, tri-cycles for persons with disability among others lucrative promises.
