Messrs Nathaniel Kumi, Youth Organizer of the Shishiishi branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), and his assistant, William Kumador, at the week-end organized an eight-hour clean-up exercise to sensitize residents on the need to get involved in communal work, to keep their environments clean.
They cleared weedy areas and desilted choked gutters, especially on the bridge across the “Lafa River” near Atta Kwami’s place at Santa Maria “A” Lang, which got flooded on June 3 “Black Wednesday”claiming lives and properties worth millions of Cedis.
Mr. Kumador urged residents to get involved in communal work during sanitation days to keep their environments clean, and to help reduce the flooding situation in the area. He urged the participants to educate residents on communal labour, to avert future occurrence of floods in the area.
