Newly elected New Patriotic Party [NPP] Member of Parliament [MP] aspirant for Tema West, Carlos Ahenkorah has said he was very optimistic of a victory despite having a stiff opponent who was backed by the party’s gurus.
He told NEAT FM’s morning show host Kwesi Aboagye that – “I knew I was going to win”.
Carlos Ahenkorah who refused to mention party bigwigs who endorsed his candidature also said on "Ghana Mo Ntie" that – “Some knew my capabilities and supported me. Tema West constituency needed a change…Naa Torshie is doing well but they needed another person to continue…so they voted for me”.
Carlos Ahenkorah won the NPP Primaries in the Tema West Constituency with a dramatic results that saw incumbent Irene Naa Torshie-Addo fall heavily.
The MP elect polled 500 votes – leaving his strongest opponent Irene Naa Torshie-Addo with just 273 votes and the third candidate Adwoa Amoako with an embarrassing figure of two [2] votes.
However, the MP aspirant elect noted that he will bring on board his expertise to ensure a victory for NPP come 2016.
