The Ashanti regional party executives of the New Patriotic Party have taken turns to express shock at the loss of lives from the torrential rains of Wednesday June 3rdm, 2015.
The executives led Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako expressed their deep grief over the huge human losses in the deadly explosion that claimed over hundreds of lives at the Goil filling station near the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra.
In an interview with the Ashanti Regional Chairman, Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako, he extended his deep sympathy to families who were affected by the disaster and called on them to regain their confidence reading 1st Chronicle chapter 4 verses 9-10 which says :“Jabez was more honorable than his brothers.
His mother had named him Jabez, saying, “I gave birth to him in pain.” Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.”
Close to a hundred people died in an explosion at the fuel station. Many of the victims were seeking refuge there after floods resulting from hours of rain submerged large parts of the capital.
The fuel filling station exploded after it caught fire unexpectedly, killing and injuring dozens of people, destroying several houses and shops including a drugstore and a forex bureau.
