ECOWAS Intelligence Chiefs are holding an anti-terrorists meeting in Accra.
The meeting of the Intelligence Chiefs is in furtherance to the decision of the Chair of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, President John Dramani Mahama, for a meeting to discuss the activities of the Boko Haram terrorist group in Nigeria.
The meeting is expected to invoke the ECOWAS Protocols on counter terrorism and adopt a strategic plan to assist Nigeria clamp down on Boko Haram and rescue the over 200 school girls kidnapped by the group.
Also attending the meeting are the intelligence chiefs of Cameroun and Chad.
President Mahama announced plans for the meeting when he met Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja. Present at the meeting was the President of the ECOWAS Commission, Kadre Desire Ouedraogo.
